188 have their $30 IRTA dues deducted in September of each year
169 pay their $30 state dues yearly.
48 are life members of IRTA

However, there are 439 Johnson County retired educators who do not belong to IRTA. Some of these do belong to JCRTA.
1,738 active teachers who are potential JCRTA and IRTA members and could become associate members for $5.00 while they are still employed as teachers.

Local dues are $5.00 per person per year (September 1st - August 31st). Checks are to be made out to JCTRA and mailed to Sue Christiansen (753 Walnut Street, Franklin, IN 46131)
All Johnson County retired educators as well as any educators who live in Johnson County, but retired from a school system outside of Johnson County, are welcome to join. Spouses of any certified educator may become a local and state member. See details below.

We strongly encourage all of you to join both the JCRTA and the IRTA as they are the only group/organization that soley represents the interests of Indiana Retired Educators.
We strongly encourage you to join the Indiana State Retired Teachers Association (IRTA).
LOCAL ASSOCIATE JCTRA MEMBERSHIP: Dues are ($5.00) and the process is the same as listed above. Open to any certified educator 50 or older who has not retired and works or lives in Johnson County. Also any relative of a retired or active teacher may also become an associate member for $5.00
Membership is also open to any retired non-certified educator who works or lives in Johnson County. Public school employees who pay into (PERF) Public Employees Retirement Fund, also have a state organization for retired PERF members. STATE IRTA MEMBERSHIPS: IRTA dues are $30 a year with a variety of ways to pay. You have the option to have dues deducted automatically, pay directly, or obtain a life membership. Visit the IRTA website at www.retiredteachers.org for full details and forms you can print out to pay membership dues.
JCRTA also provides you the option of paying annual state dues along with your JCRTA annual dues.

STATE IRTA ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIPS
Non-retired educators, spouses, relatives, and others are eligible for associate membership for only $5 per year. Associate members are also eligible for many member benefits. www.retiredteachers.org provides information and forms to join IRTA.
