WHY RENEW INDIANA DRIVER LICENSES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND NOT WAIT UNTIL 2012
More than 12 million Hoosiers will need to renew their driver licenses in 2012? That is several times the usual amount of renewals in a year. The huge number of renewals in 2012 came about due to the anticipated changes in licenses that were to go into effect in 2012 as a result of homeland security requirements. The DMV encourages drivers renew now to avoid delays that may occur by waiting until 2012.
You can renew your license on-line at www.in.gov/bmv/ If you do not have a SecureID, but want to have the SecureID you must go to the branch and take several documents with you. What you need can be found at www.in.gov/bmv/. However, if you are 70 or older you cannot renew on-line. Those of us who are 70 and older must go to the branch, pass the vision test, then pay the $21.00 fee.
